DetailBay keeps your work on your phone. There is no account and no advertising. Your job photos, vehicle details, captions and PDF reports stay on your device — we never receive them and cannot see them. From version 1.0.2 the app also sends anonymous usage counts — which screens are used and how often, once a day — to our own server, so we can see what gets in the way and fix it. No identifiers, no third parties, and you can switch it off in Settings → Privacy.
Everything DetailBay creates is written to its own storage on your iPhone: the jobs you create, the photos you take or import, panel labels and captions, your shop details and logo, and the PDF reports it generates. None of that content is transmitted anywhere.
DetailBay uses the camera only to take before and after photos when you tap the shutter. Photos are written straight to the app's storage on your device.
If you allow it, DetailBay saves a copy of each job photo into an album in your own Photos library, so your normal device backup keeps a copy of your work. This is a write into your own library on your own device — the copy stays under your control and is never sent to us. DetailBay can also import photos you pick from your library into a job. If you deny access, both features simply do nothing and the rest of the app is unaffected.
When you share a report, iOS hands the PDF to whichever app or service you choose — mail, messages, a cloud drive. From that point the file is governed by that service's terms and privacy policy, not ours. We are not involved in the transfer and receive no copy.
DetailBay Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We never see your payment details, and we do not receive your name, email or Apple Account information. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
From version 1.0.2 the app sends a small daily batch of counters to a server we run ourselves: how often a screen was opened, whether a report was shared, and whether the subscription screen was reached — grouped only by how long ago the app was installed. There are no identifiers of any kind (no account, no advertising ID, no device ID), no photos, no job details, and no third-party analytics service. We use it only to see which parts of the app get in the way. Turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy; nothing is sent while it is off.
DetailBay is a work tool intended for adults and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children — the usage counts described above carry no names, identifiers or content.
Because the usage counts carry no identifiers, we hold no data about you — there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. You can remove everything the app holds by deleting a job, or by deleting the app — which also removes its photos and reports from your device. Copies you saved to your own Photos library, or reports you already shared, remain where you put them.
