DetailBay — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

DetailBay collects nothing. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising. Your job photos, vehicle details, captions and PDF reports stay on your device. We never receive them and cannot see them.

What the app stores, and where

Everything DetailBay creates is written to its own storage on your iPhone: the jobs you create, the photos you take or import, panel labels and captions, your shop details and logo, and the PDF reports it generates. None of it is transmitted anywhere.

Camera

DetailBay uses the camera only to take before and after photos when you tap the shutter. Photos are written straight to the app's storage on your device.

Photos library

If you allow it, DetailBay saves a copy of each job photo into an album in your own Photos library, so your normal device backup keeps a copy of your work. This is a write into your own library on your own device — the copy stays under your control and is never sent to us. DetailBay can also import photos you pick from your library into a job. If you deny access, both features simply do nothing and the rest of the app is unaffected.

Reports you share

When you share a report, iOS hands the PDF to whichever app or service you choose — mail, messages, a cloud drive. From that point the file is governed by that service's terms and privacy policy, not ours. We are not involved in the transfer and receive no copy.

Purchases

DetailBay Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We never see your payment details, and we do not receive your name, email or Apple Account information. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.

Children

DetailBay is a work tool intended for adults and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. You can remove everything the app holds by deleting a job, or by deleting the app — which also removes its photos and reports from your device. Copies you saved to your own Photos library, or reports you already shared, remain where you put them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the "last updated" date above.
