Hardhat keeps your work on your phone. There is no account and no advertising. Your job photos, job details, captions and PDF reports stay on your device — we never receive them and cannot see them. The app also sends anonymous usage counts — which screens are used and how often, once a day — to our own server, so we can see what gets in the way and fix it. No identifiers, no third parties, and you can switch it off in Settings → Privacy.
Everything Hardhat creates is written to its own storage on your iPhone: the jobs you create, the photos you take or import, the captions and markup you add, your company details and logo, and the PDF reports it generates. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
Hardhat uses the camera only to take job photos when you tap the shutter. Photos are written straight to the app's storage on your device.
If you allow location access, Hardhat reads your location and compass bearing at the moment you take a photo in order to stamp that photo and record it with the job. Location is used for nothing else: it is not tracked in the background, not logged over time, and never transmitted. If you deny location access the app works normally and the stamp simply omits it.
If you allow it, Hardhat saves a copy of each job photo into an album in your own Photos library, so your normal device backup keeps a copy of your job records. This is a write into your own library on your own device — the copy stays under your control and is never sent to us. Hardhat can also import photos you pick from your library into a job. If you deny access, both features simply do nothing and the rest of the app is unaffected.
When you share a report, iOS hands the PDF to whichever app or service you choose — mail, messages, a cloud drive. From that point the file is governed by that service's terms and privacy policy, not ours. We are not involved in the transfer and receive no copy.
Hardhat Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We never see your payment details, and we do not receive your name, email or Apple Account information. See Apple's privacy policy for how Apple handles purchase data.
The app sends a small daily batch of counters to a server we run ourselves: how often a screen was opened, whether the core job was done, and whether the subscription screen was reached — grouped only by how long ago the app was installed. There are no identifiers of any kind (no account, no advertising ID, no device ID), no job content, and no third-party analytics service. We use it only to see which parts of the app get in the way. Turn it off any time in Settings → Privacy; nothing is sent while it is off.
Hardhat is a work tool intended for adults and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct or delete. You can remove everything the app holds by deleting a job, or by deleting the app — which also removes its photos and reports from your device. Copies you saved to your own Photos library, or reports you already shared, remain where you put them.
