These terms are an agreement between you and Degen Technology Corp. covering Skintel, a skin tracking app for iOS. By using Skintel you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Skintel is a cosmetic tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose skin conditions, does not detect skin cancer or any other disease, and is not a substitute for care from a qualified clinician.
Skintel analyses a photograph you take and produces a score with a breakdown across several visual characteristics of skin. It also keeps a routine checklist and a history of your scans so you can see change over time.
A score is an estimate produced by software from a single photograph. It is affected by lighting, camera quality, angle, makeup and expression. Two scans taken minutes apart can differ. Scores are for your own tracking and interest — they are not measurements of health, and they are not a clinical assessment. Where Skintel is not confident in a reading, it says so; treat a score accordingly.
Nothing in Skintel — the score, the breakdown, the routine, or any educational text — is medical advice. Skintel does not diagnose acne, rosacea, eczema, melanoma or any other condition, and it cannot tell you whether a mark on your skin is dangerous. If you have a skin condition, are pregnant, take prescription treatments, or notice a change that concerns you, speak to a dermatologist or doctor. Never delay seeking medical advice because of something this app showed you.
Where Skintel comments on a product's ingredients relative to sensitivities you have entered, it is doing a text comparison against information you provided — not a safety assessment. It cannot detect every irritant, does not know your full medical history, and may hold incomplete or outdated product information. Always patch-test new products and read the manufacturer's own labelling.
How your photo is handled is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: every scan sends your photo to an AI processing provider to produce your analysis; we keep no copy on any server of ours; your scores and routine stay on your device; and you can erase everything from Settings.
Skintel offers an auto-renewing subscription. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple under their terms, not by us.
Use Skintel for yourself. Do not upload photographs of other people without their consent, do not attempt to reverse-engineer or resell the app, and do not use it to provide diagnostic or clinical services to anyone else.
These terms are between you and Degen Technology Corp. only, and not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Skintel or its content.
You are granted a non-transferable licence to use Skintel on any Apple-branded device that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
Degen Technology Corp. is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support for Skintel. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services.
Degen Technology Corp. is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If Skintel fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to Skintel.
Degen Technology Corp., not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to Skintel or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that Skintel fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or similar legislation.
In the event of a third-party claim that Skintel infringes that party's intellectual property rights, Degen Technology Corp., not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of that claim.
You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when using Skintel.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and, upon your acceptance, will have the right to enforce them against you.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Skintel is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and Degen Technology Corp. is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
These terms remain in effect until terminated by you or by Degen Technology Corp. Your rights end if you fail to comply with them. Deleting the app terminates the licence.
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms, and the date at the top of this page changes.
